N&E 6-bell Striking Competition

N&E District held their 6-bell striking competition this afternoon, with 6 teams entering, two of whom were Novice bands. Aldgate won the Novice cup, with St. Mary's Kilburn coming second. N&E District had a very successful day last Saturday, 19 March, our Quarter Peal Day. Stephen Jakeman kindly and efficiently took over the organisation of the day from Alec Gray who was unwell. 17 quarters were attempted, and 11 scored, which included 10 firsts - ( quarter, in method or as conductor). £386. was raised and donated to the BRF. A band of twelve members of the Middlesex County Association & London Diocesan Guild arranged by master Geraldine Forster successfully rang a special touch of 800 changes of Stedman Cinques at St Mary le Bow. The Middlesex Eight Bell Striking Competition, organised by Tom Lawrance, took place on Saturday 30th May at Sunbury on Thames with nine teams competing.
