N&E 6-bell Striking Competition

N&E District held their 6-bell striking competition this afternoon, with 6 teams entering, two of whom were Novice bands. Aldgate won the Novice cup, with St. Mary's Kilburn coming second. Kilburn St. Augustine won the Jersey cup, with Aldgate and St. James' Islington coming second and third. There was some good ringing on not easy bells. Congratulations to all. NE: Quarter Peal Day and Bell Restoration Fund

N&E District had a very successful day last Saturday, 19 March, our Quarter Peal Day. Stephen Jakeman kindly and efficiently took over the organisation of the day from Alec Gray who was unwell. 17 quarters were attempted, and 11 scored, which included 10 firsts - ( quarter, in method or as conductor). £386. was raised and donated to the BRF. Middlesex Ringing for 800th Lord Mayor’s Show Day

              A band of twelve members of the Middlesex County Association & London Diocesan Guild arranged by master Geraldine Forster successfully rang a special touch of 800 changes of Stedman Cinques at St Mary le Bow. Middlesex Eight Bell Striking Competition
