South & West District Striking Competition
The newly formed South & West District of the Middlesex County Association and London Diocesan Guild held its 6 bell striking competition at Norwood Green on Sunday 9th June; the bells were cast by Gillett & Johnston in 1909 and have plain bearings, well greased for the occasion. Seven teams entered and kept their 240 changes to Grandsire or Plain Bob Doubles. North & East District Striking Competition
The N&E 6 bell district striking competition took place last Sunday, 19 May at St. James' Islington. Our thanks go to the host band for providing an excellent tea, private garden in which the judges could sit, and for stewarding the event. Five bands took part: St. Botolph's Aldgate, St. James Islington, Foster Lane Bands A and B, Hackney. Young ringers at St Mary’s, Kilburn
On Sunday 7th April I was very pleased to join ten of our younger ringers at St Mary Kilburn at what I hope is the first of a regular feature in the Association & Guild’s life. The youngsters came from half a dozen towers and it was really good to meet them and see them in action. As far as I could see they thoroughly enjoyed themselves particularly so at the ten pin bowling afterwards. You would think they all came from the same tower by the degree of interaction!
