The N&E 6 bell district striking competition took place last Sunday, 19 May at
St. James’ Islington. Our thanks go to the host band for providing an excellent
tea, private garden in which the judges could sit, and for stewarding the event.
Five bands took part: St. Botolph’s Aldgate, St. James Islington, Foster Lane
Bands A and B, Hackney.
The Jersey cup was won by Aldgate with 84.1%, St James Islington came
second with 83.2% and Hackney third with 77.1%.
Unfortunately one band only rang 120 rather than 240 so was unplaced.
Many thanks to the judges and to all who took part and rang so well.
