The N&E District Striking Contest was held last Saturday, 17th May, at Christ Church Southgate, ringing on the front six bells.  The judges. On 18 January at St Anne's, Highgate, the District Planning Meeting discussed the calendar of events for 2014, shared a meal, and enjoyed a Quiz.  Following the meeting we were turned loose on the most amazing bring-and-share buffet - better than I've seen at many professionally catered events.  There followed the Quiz under Quiz Master Patrick Draper (Saffron Walden) who kept a tight rein on proceedings and kept us marching along at a brisk pace.  Our grateful thanks go to Patrick for … [Read more...]

St Michael's, Wood Green, has completed major repairs to the spire.  The bells were removed in 2012 and kept in storage at the Whitechapel foundry for over a year, but have now been re-hung.  The tower is not yet available for ringing.  See tower page for more details and contacts. … [Read more...]

The N&E 6 bell district striking competition took place last Sunday, 19 May at St. James' Islington.  Our thanks go to the host band for providing an excellent tea, private garden in which the judges could sit, and for stewarding the event. Five bands took part:  St. Botolph's Aldgate, St. James Islington, Foster Lane Bands A and B, Hackney.
