N & E Learners’ Outing

On 18th June 10 learners and 17 helpers visited Monken Hadley, Ridge, South Mimms and North Mymms towers for the annual Learners' Outing, stopping for lunch at Ridge and finishing with a delicious tea provided at North Mymms by the Monken Hadley ringers. N&E 6-bell Striking Competition

N&E District held their 6-bell striking competition this afternoon, with 6 teams entering, two of whom were Novice bands. Aldgate won the Novice cup, with St. Mary's Kilburn coming second. Kilburn St. Augustine won the Jersey cup, with Aldgate and St. James' Islington coming second and third. There was some good ringing on not easy bells. Congratulations to all. N&E District had a very successful day last Saturday, 19 March, our Quarter Peal Day. Stephen Jakeman kindly and efficiently took over the organisation of the day from Alec Gray who was unwell. 17 quarters were attempted, and 11 scored, which included 10 firsts - ( quarter, in method or as conductor). £386. was raised and donated to the BRF.
